Our vintage accessories are fabulous and turn any plain outfit into something unforgettable. One dramatic piece worn alone, or combining a few artfully, can help you create an eclectic or eccentric, one of a kind, style masterpiece.
Our focus at Old & Vain, has always been on creating a unique, individualized look, as opposed to just wearing current fashion items seen on so many. Our pieces were collected while imagining how they could transform basic outfits, elevate and personalize the look of trending clothing, then be reinvented year after year.
The majority of our collection was made by craftsmen with quality materials and not made as well today (at comparable prices), which allows for many more years of use, if well taken care of. Some less dense things sold here are just too cool & unusual to let fade away. Still, all have withstood time. Prices will reflect sustainability and /or desirability, but some are less expensive than a week's worth of lattes from your local coffee shop.

Clean Vintage- All pieces were looked over carefully & cleaned as far as not to remove the character. All vintage collectors have purchased something and found out that after cleaning, it falls apart or strong musty odors can't be removed. This gamble has already been taken by Old & Vain, and sharing only the winnings with you and what you expect.
Less Landfill - As they are sustainable, versatile, and pre-owned products, that means they are recycled.
Exquisite & Unusual Gifts- Give an Old & Vain true vintage gift that has boutique essence & charm. We believe even the most scrutinizing person who "has everything" doesn't have all the wonderfully unique items in this store. They will be just as pleased with the presentation as what's revealed after opening. We always package everything nicely but will get extra creative & particular if requested.
Loyalty & Appreciation to Customers- Although this is a NO HAGGLE vintage store, they have been known to give bigger discounts and occasional gifts to repeat customers or larger purchases. If shopping in person and asked, they can offer alternatives in the collection even if it hurts their bottom line. Old & Vain prides themselves on their honesty and old school "Regular" customer mentality.
Also... If you live locally and are picking up, you can hold and try on these rare pieces and inspect yourself before you buy. If you're a vintage online shopper already, you know this is a great perk. And Local Pick-Up customers receive a discount-price adjustment varies per item-inquiry 1st.
Quality Care
You can examine the item closely with our product description image and ask us questions before purchasing. All potential buyers are privy to any issue in the product that cannot be cleaned or fixed.
All earring backs have been cleaned and new backings added to pierced type. Repairs have been made to jewelry if necessary. All Leathers, suedes, and exotic skins have been cleaned or conditioned with particular solutions if needed. Steps have been taken to remove musty odors from handbags but sometimes a faint hint of "old" remains.
We occasionally replace straps on bags due to age and use in an attempt to salvage them and, at the same time, add a chic & modern appeal. Some vintage lovers may disapprove, but at the owner's fashion discretion, these purses continue to style onward. Any enhancements will be explained in descriptions.
Many sales are bittersweet because of the owner's love for every individual piece. She wishes she could have an interview process before selling many, but that could be deemed offensive lol.
So quality care is an understatement!
